DESCRIPTION:As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and educating our students about the digital world\, students in Years 7\, 8\, 9\, 12\, and 13 will be attending a one-hour talk at De La Salle College delivered by Natasha Devon MBE\, titled “Phones\, Social Media & Surviving the Online World.” Meanwhile\, our Year 6 students will be accompanied by staff to Beaulieu School on the same day\, where they will attend a separate\, age-appropriate version of the talk with the same keynote speaker. \nThis event is part of a wider initiative organised by the Government of Jersey\, being delivered across all schools and colleges. It complements the work we already do at De La Salle College to promote E-Safety\, especially regarding the use of mobile devices\, social media\, and other online activities. While digital platforms offer many benefits\, they can also present risks and potential harm if not navigated with care. \nNatasha Devon MBE is a well-known writer\, speaker\, and mental health campaigner who has worked extensively in schools across the UK. She specialises in youth wellbeing and digital resilience\, and her engaging and informative sessions are rooted in evidence and experience.
