De La Salle College wish to appoint a Learning Support Centre Supervisor working within a highly experienced team of practitioners, led by an outstanding SEND teacher, who provide learning support for students at the College.

We are inviting applications from individuals with experience of helping students to develop an appreciation of learning within a school-based setting. The most important attribute for this role is a positive manner, able to show initiative and work as a member of a team. Understanding that the needs of the students in the care of the College are paramount is essential. Candidates must already have or be prepared to undertake additional training to ensure they gain the key qualifications needed to support our students

Principal Duties

  • Before/lunchtime/After LSC supervision – supporting students with homework/independent study and providing an environment for enrichment activities
  • Supporting the learning of identified individuals or groups within the LSC, as directed by the SENDCO.
  • Providing individual or small group support in the LSC, as directed by the SENDCO
  • Managing learning support activities, programmes or materials in the LSC, as directed by the SENDCO
  • Reporting progress of groups or individuals to staff as required. Reporting any concerns as necessary
  • Being prepared to investigate and take training to develop the support for pupils provided by the school, as directed by the SENDCO.
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing through general interactions and following specific emotional support programmes. Being able to offer ELSA support is essential and training will be provided to enable the successful candidate to do this.
  • Supervise support staff as required.
