College Open Days

The College Open Day is held in the Advent (Autumn) Term, and the event is open to past, current and prospective families as well as any interested individuals, no booking is required. Admissions for Year 7 intake commences at the beginning of the Lent (Spring) term, five terms before the start of Year 7. We encourage parents of current Year 5 and 6 boys to attend the Open Event in the Advent term.

Private Tours

We also warmly invite any prospective family to join us for a private tour. Tours in Primary are led by our Head of Primary, and in Secondary by our Director of Admissions.

If you have any enquiries about any of our open events, or should you be unable to attend, please do contact our Admissions Team. Our Admissions Team will organise an opportunity to visit the College, to find out about our wonderful school environment from either our Primary Headteacher or from our Director of Admissions.

Admissions FAQs

How do I register?

Registration can be completed through the admissions tab of our website. You will be required to complete an online form and pay a £50 registration fee, either online or by providing a cheque to the College.

Are bursaries available?

Please contact the College Bursar (bursar@dls-jersey.co.uk) for all enquiries in respect of available College bursaries.

Will my son in Primary gain automatic entry to the Secondary school?

All boys in the care of De La Salle in the Primary School have an automatic place in Year 7.

When should I register my son for Primary School?

We have key entry points into Early Years (Pre Reception and Reception), Year 3 and Year 6. We do encourage early registration as our year groups tend to fill up quickly.

When should I register my son for Year 7 entry?

We start the admissions process to the Secondary in the Lent (Spring) term, four terms prior to the start of Year 7, while the boys are in Year 5. We therefore encourage prospective families to visit our Open Day event in September each year, while the boys are in Year 4 or 5. It is sensible, therefore, to register your son by the end of the Advent (autumn) term of Year 5, at least five terms before the start of Year 7.

Can my son join after Year 7?

We are able to facilitate entry after September of Year 7, but admissions depends on the availability of spaces, and over recent years we have remained full in Key Stage 3.

We are unable to accept boys into the College after the autumn term of Year 9 and before Year 12 as all boys commence their GCSE courses at the end of Year 8, and it is not possible for boys to join those courses at a later stage.

We do welcome applications into our Sixth Form for A level or BTEC qualifications, depending on availability of places.

What does De La Salle mean when it describes itself as an ‘inclusive school’?

De La Salle College has no entry examinations and caters for students of all ability levels. Our thriving teaching and learning environments supports all students to strive for excellence and to reach their full potential.

We have a number of students with Special Educational Needs and provide a permanent teaching assistant for our year 6 students while they attend their lessons on the secondary site, and additional teaching assistant support in some lessons. We do not have the resources to provide 1-2-1 support for the boys in our care, and we require complete disclosure of all SEN information as part of the admissions process so that our decision in respect of an Offer of Place is supported by the knowledge that our school is fully and appropriately equipped to ensure all needs can be catered for.

We establish high expectations for behaviour at all times. Our due diligence procedures, as part of the admissions process, are designed to assure our duty of care to all boys and their parents at De La Salle, and to ensure the learning environment remains uncompromised by the chosen behaviours of those who join.
