Fees

Nursery

Our nursery is open to children from three years of age (rising 3’s) to age four. The nursery is open from 08.00 to 17.00 during term time, and also for parts of the school holidays.

Three-Year-Olds

For children who are classed as rising 3’s hours are charged at the additional hours rate, and parents can claim a refund from the Government of Jersey for up to £6,270 per year. This funding can be used for hours both during term time and during the holidays.

Four-Year-Olds

The Government of Jersey through the NEF funding programme provides up to 30 hours of free Nursery education in each week during term time. Families can claim a minimum of 4 free hours per day up to a maximum of 8 free hours per day and a maximum of 30 hours per week. This funding is paid direct to the College.

Children can stay in the Nursery for more than 30 hours per week during term time. Hours above the weekly hours claimed from NEF via the Parent’s Declaration are charged as additional hours directly to the parent.

There is also a Holiday Club operating during the school holidays (hours and days supplied to parents). This is charged at a daily rate and payable upfront.

Current additional hours rate: £10.63 per hour.

There is no deposit required to join the College at this point and transfer to other school year groups is automatic.

School Fees

Reception to Year 13

£9,267 per year (£3,089 per term)

Fees are due on or before the first day of the term unless otherwise agreed; payment can be made on an annual or termly basis, or monthly over 10- or 12-month periods. Our preferred method of payment is via Direct Debit. Please direct any queries to our College Bursar (Bursar@dls-jersey.co.uk).

A 5% charge applies to any missed or late payments not cleared within 15 days.

Additional Charges

There are additional charges for Activity Week in June; costs vary dependent on choice of activities.

  • For primary aged children not in the nursery, additional hours in our after-school club are charged directly to parents by our after-school hours provider, Tamariki.
  • For boys in the Senior department of the school after school activities are available until 16.30, most of which do not carry a charge. However, some optional co-curricular clubs and activities have an additional charge where there are overheads and these will be charged directly to parents by the provider.

Optional trips and visits, either on or off Island, incur additional charges, which vary according to the activity.

Examination fees are levied by examination boards; however, school fees include these.

A 5% charge applies to any missed or late payments not cleared within 15 days.

Additional Terms

Fees

Fees are reviewed annually each Spring, with changes announced by the end of the Lent term, where possible. The Governors reserve the right to increase fees without notice, though every effort will be made to give current parents/guardians at least one term’s notice of fee increases.

Fees are not reduced in cases of illness or absence. Students on exam study leave remain on roll; Summer Term fees still apply irrespective of the payment option being agreed.

Conditions of Admissions

Parents must disclose all relevant information regarding any special educational needs before joining the school. The College Director may withdraw a place if this information is not provided. In rare cases, the College Director may withdraw a place if it becomes clear that the school is not the appropriate educational environment for the student. For further information please refer to the College’s Terms and Conditions.

Notice of withdrawal

In the event of withdrawal of a pupil from the school, a full term’s notice in writing must be given to the College Director prior to the start of the final term. In the absence of such notice and acknowledgement from the College Director before the commencement of the final term before withdrawal, one term’s fees are payable in lieu.

Changes to Nursery Days/Hours and After School Club

Nursery days/hours and cancellation of Holiday and After School Club bookings are subject to half a term’s notice being received by the Bursar’s office. Failure to provide this in writing will result in the fee-payer being charged for these hours.

Suspension and Exclusion

The Headteacher may, in line with the published policy and at his discretion, suspend or—where behaviour is serious or persistent—recommend permanent exclusion. This may occur when behaviour inside or outside school is deemed unsatisfactory, and suspension is considered in the best interests of the student or wider school community. Following exclusion, no fees or supplementary charges will be refunded, and all outstanding payments remain due. For further information please refer to the College’s Terms and Conditions.
