Stanley House Fundraising Week for Shelter Trust Jersey

Last month, students in Stanley House across all year groups at De La Salle College demonstrated creativity, compassion, and a strong sense of community as they raised funds for the Shelter Trust Jersey, supporting those experiencing homelessness in our local area.

Each year group designed, promoted, and ran their own fundraising initiatives:

  • Year 7 hosted a lively Wheel of Fortune Raffle, with the most sought-after prize being a non-uniform day.
  • Year 8 stacked up the fun with a Can Tower Challenge, competing to build the tallest tower from donated tins.
  • Year 9 ran a popular Sweet Sale, offering a variety of treats throughout the day.
  • Year 10 added a touch of mystery with a Lucky Dip, full of surprises.
  • Year 11 showed real commitment by taking part in a Sponsored Sleep-In at school on Friday night, raising awareness and funds through their overnight stay.
  • Year 12 organized a delicious Cake Sale during Friday breaktime, featuring plenty of homemade cakes generously brought in by the boys.

In addition to these activities, the whole school took part in a Tinathon food drive, collecting tinned goods to support the local food bank—an effort that will make a meaningful difference to families in need.

The week ended with a cheerful Dress Down Day, enjoyed by all, with proceeds going directly to Shelter Trust.

The week’s efforts were a powerful expression of our Lasallian values in action—especially concern for the poor and social justice, community, and service. Through teamwork, generosity, and a shared commitment to helping others, our students lived out the principles that lie at the heart of our school ethos.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported these important causes!
